General Terms
This warranty begins on the date of purchase. It is void if the part or parts do not bear the identifying mark that appears on all Investor Cars and Auto Salvage parts. By taking possession of the merchandise, the buyer affirms that he or she has had adequate opportunity to inspect it, and acknowledges that taking possession constitutes agreement with all terms and conditions set forth below.
All items purchased from Investor Cars and Auto Salvage are warranted to be in good working order at the time of purchase unless otherwise stated. By completing the purchase, the buyer agrees to the terms herein.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Investor Cars and Auto Salvage disclaims all warranties, whether expressed or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Investor Cars and Auto Salvage neither assumes, nor authorizes any other person to assume on its behalf, any liability in connection with the sale of these parts, and is not responsible for any loss caused by the installation, removal, repair, replacement, or use of this merchandise.
Core Charges & Exchange Parts
All parts sold on an exchange basis must be turned in at the time of purchase, or a core fee may be charged. The core fee will be refunded when the buyer returns the exchange item within 90 days of the original invoice date.
Special Orders & Deposits
A 50% cash deposit is required when parts must be specially ordered from another source or when special dismantling is required. Deposits made for special orders, special dismantling, or holding parts for the buyer's convenience are non-refundable regardless of reason, and are forfeited if the full balance is not paid within 30 days of the original invoice date. Special-order items are not returnable or refundable.
Transmissions
Before installation, the buyer must replace the front seal and flush the transmission system. The following actions void all warranties on transmissions:
- Improper detent adjustment
- Low fluid levels
- Failure to install a new filter
- Broken front pump
- Improper installation
- Failure to replace the front seal
- Failure to flush the transmission system
Engines
Engines are warranted against excessive oil consumption, defects of internal parts, cracks in the block or heads, and inadequate oil pressure.
Required Before Installation
The buyer must install new timing belt, oil seals, rear main seal, valve cover gaskets, timing cover gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, exhaust gaskets, and any other gaskets or seals prior to installing the engine.
Not Guaranteed
Investor Cars and Auto Salvage does not guarantee against oil leaks or failure of accessories transferred from the buyer's original engine. It is the buyer's responsibility to verify that all accessories used are in proper working order.
Transmission-Caused Damage
It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure the transmission is functioning properly so that it does not damage the engine. If a malfunctioning transmission damages the engine, all warranties are void.
Heat Tabs & Overheating
Critical: All engines and cylinder heads have heat tabs installed on them. If the vehicle begins to overheat, the buyer must stop the vehicle and shut off the engine immediately. Failure to do so will result in engine damage and will automatically void any and all warranties.
Warranty Period & Conditions
The warranty is valid for the period stated on the invoice. The warranty is void if mileage exceeds the stated limitations. Proof of an oil change every 3,000 miles must be documented.
The warranty does not cover: water pumps, belts, hoses, alternators, A/C compressors, intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, or motor mounts.
All cooling lines must be flushed of foreign materials. Any vehicle in which an Investor Cars and Auto Salvage engine or transmission is installed must have a properly functioning cooling system in good working condition.
Authorized Repairs
Only Investor Cars and Auto Salvage, or an automotive business certified by an Investor Cars and Auto Salvage representative, may perform repairs or work on any warrantied part. Advance permission from Investor Cars and Auto Salvage is required.
No Reimbursement for Related Costs
No reimbursement will be given for delay, labor, mileage, towing, rental vehicles, or any other cost of installing or reinstalling a part. In no event shall the seller be responsible for any incidental or consequential damages.
Remedy at Seller's Discretion
Investor Cars and Auto Salvage reserves the right to determine, at its sole discretion, whether to replace, repair, or refund the original purchase price of a returned part.
Voiding Events
Claims resulting from accident, abuse, neglect, alteration, improper maintenance, or improper installation will void the warranty.
Accessories Sold "As Is"
This limited warranty does not cover attached items or accessories, including but not limited to: water pump, fuel pump, carburetor, starter, distributor, air conditioner pump, and computers. These items are sold "as is." It is the buyer's responsibility to transfer all secondary and/or primary assemblies in a manner that conforms to all EPA, federal, and state regulatory standards.
Non-Transferable; Use Restrictions
This limited warranty is not transferable. It does not cover damage resulting from use in racing, off-road use (including agricultural use), accident, or misuse.
Returned Checks
All checks returned unpaid forfeit warranty coverage and will be prosecuted.
Return Policy
No returns will be accepted without the original invoice. Parts must be returned within 30 days of the original invoice date unless otherwise stated. A restocking fee of up to 25% may apply. Parts must be in original condition, unaltered and undamaged.
It is agreed that Investor Cars and Auto Salvage is the sole determiner of condition for the purpose of any return. The buyer agrees to any inspection required and agrees that the seller has the right to accept returned merchandise at the seller's discretion. Body sections are not returnable.
Any discounts must be pre-approved by the salesperson. The buyer must contact the salesperson within 24 hours of receiving the part. No discounts will be given after the first 24 hours.
Refunds and discounts are issued in the form of store credit. Store credits do not expire and may be applied toward the purchase of another part.
Warranty Details (Completed at Time of Sale)
Specific warranty terms, coverage duration, and applicable mileage limits are recorded on the original invoice at time of sale.
